CASA DE LA SALSA
is always looking for fresh talent to be part
of our Student & Pro teams.

CASA DE LA SALSA TEAM REHEARSALS WILL CONTINUE IN 2010.

If you are considering performing with CASA de la SALSA please let me know before January 3, 2010.  I will be scheduling rehearsals and putting choreography together for LADIES' routines and PARTNERWORK routines throughout 2010.

Read on if you think you might want to perform ...

If you've wanted a chance to perform, or find out what it takes to perform,
and want to join a cooperative and dedicated group of salsa dancers whose sole intent
is to put on the best performance possible, you should come!

Please email me (Almyra88@hotmail.com)
if you are interested in joining either group.

FOR THE STUDENT TEAM:
CASA is seeking motivated, committed, congenial, and mature dancers and team players.
Being part of the CASA student team is part of a short-term "contract"
and on your honor, the following, at minimum, are expected of you:

- You will be asked to attend rehearsals on a regular weekly basis (schedule TBA)
for a period of 9 months (January -September 2010).   (Shorter term is also possible if you only seek to
perform in one routine at a time.  Please email me to discuss this.)
If you need to miss a rehearsal here or there, the team is flexible,
but if you know now that you cannot make these rehearsals on a regular basis,
unfortunately, I can't ask you to join the CASA student team.

- Being prompt is required - if you have a steady schedule conflict that you know of,
you must let me know at the meeting, so we can make a determination about whether
there are adjustments we can make for your participation that won't affect the team,
the routine or the flow of rehearsals.

- You will be required to pay dues to cover various costs of being in the team,
including studio space & instruction.  Fees will be set after the team
is assembled, but will be between $80 - $120/month,
to cover up to 16 hours of rehearsal per month.

- You will be asked to pay for your own costumes for each routine learned, and
you must have/purchase shoes and accessories that match any given
costume for a performance.

- Experience is needed - though not necessarily performing experience -
but at least 2 years of social dancing and instruction on2, unless I know you personally
and can determine that your dance experience and level of ability will work for the group.

- Commitment to the team, yourself and to me as the choreographer is necessary.
There's no other alternative to hold a team together - but since this is a short-term contract,
you can decide at the end of the performance of the first 2010 routines (either March or April 2010),
that being
part of the student team is not for you -
HOWEVER, at the beginning, and as far as you know,
you must be committed
to rehearsing and performing as part of this team.
If things come up later, we deal with them then :)

- You will be expected to perform at the minimum,
at one or ALL of the CASA de la Salsa Socials featuring CASA de la Salsa Team performances.
These dates will be determined in early January.

If you know ahead of time that you are
unavailable at any of these dates, it doesn't mean you cannot be in the team, but
you MUST let me know, as soon as you know.

- Other performances requests may come up, that we discuss as a team,
and for which I ask every student to do their best to be available for.

- The level of performance you reach will be determined by your commitment to practice,
willingness to learn and push yourself, and ability to work with others as part of a team -
my promise to you is that I will give you as much instruction and encouragement as you
need to reach your potential.

- Certain rules of team conduct and professionalism, which may or may not be obvious, will
also be expected of you, and will be covered during our Intro meeting.
- Last but not least, if asked to join, you will be expected to continue social dancing and/or
be part of a class system in order to keep your skills fluent and evolving.  You must NOT
rely on just being in the Performance Team to improve your skills as a dancer.
